CALLING ALL DOGS!! Help make Winnipeg OFFICIALLY AMAZING by joining us at the Goldeyes BARK IN THE PARK game at Shaw Park on Saturday June 17 at 6:00pm as we attempt to break a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for Most Dogs Attending a Sporting Event!

'Bark in the Park' is a special dog-friendly baseball game where fans are invited to bring their dogs to watch a Goldeyes game. This year's game is taking things to the next level with expanded Bark seating plus an officiAl Guinness World Records™ title attempt. The current Guinness record is 1,122 dogs achieved by the Chicago White Sox in 2016.

'Bark in the Park' has definitely proven to be a Goldeyes fan favourite," said Winnipeg Goldeyes' President and CEO Sam Katz. "And this year our fans and their dogs can be a part of history by helping us break a Guinness World Records™ title for Most Dogs Attending a Sporting Event, while also helping to support such a worthy cause as the Winnipeg Humane Society."

Tickets for "Bark in the Park" are on sale now at just $14 each. Each ticket includes admission for one person and one dog, plus a complimentary "treat bag" for furry fans (while supplies last). Additional human tickets can also be purchased. NOTE: Bark tickets are limited so fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance at Ticketmaster.ca or the Shaw Park box office.

Those attending "Bark in the Park" with their dog must download and print a "Bark in the Park" Waiver and important Guinness Record Guidelines from http://goldeyes.com/bark-in-the-park/ and present it at the dog registration table. Dogs are only permitted in the designated "Bark in the Park" areas. Dog Registration on June 17 begins at 4:30 p.m. with special pre-game entertainment on the Promenade. Shaw Park gates open at 5:00 p.m and game time is 6:00pm.

This year's Bark game will also feature a special Pre-Game 'Pooch Parade' where fans and their pooches get to parade around the field before the game. There will also be a number of other fun promotions at the game including the Pooch Smooch Cam, 7th Inning Fetch, and entertainment by X-Treme Dogs. Fans and their four-legged friends will enter Shaw Park through a special gate reserved just for them. There will even be a designated "Puppy Potty" area with real grass sod, and "Puppy Pools" for pooches to dip their paws by the registration tent.

A portion of the "Bark in the Park" ticket proceeds will be donated to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

"Winnipeg has an engaged community of dog lovers and we're excited for it to gather in record numbers at Bark in the Park. This event celebrates the pets we love and is a great way to kick off your canine's summer," said WHS Communications Coordinator, Kyle Jahns. "Funds raised from this event help the WHS provide medical care, shelter and behaviour training to over 8,000 animals each year."

"Bark in the Park" is presented by the Winnipeg Veterinary Care Group, a team of Veterinary professionals dedicated to exemplary medicine, client care, and patient service. The Winnipeg Veterinary Care Group offers a wide range of services at five associated Veterinary Hospitals, and is committed to caring for every patient as if they were their own pet and family member.

Furry fans will also receive a Doggy Treat Bag (while quantities last), including a special gift courtesy of Bluestem Oral Care.
