Principal Dancer Greta Hodgkinson is currently in Moscow, Russia, coaching dancers of The Bolshoi Ballet for the Russian premiere of Romeo and Juliet by Alexei Ratmansky, November 22 - 26, 2017 at the Bolshoi Theatre's New Stage.

Commissioned by the National Ballet, Romeo and Juliet was created for the 65th anniversary season in 2011. The Bolshoi's performance of Romeo and Juliet marks the first-time a company, outside of the National Ballet, will perform the acclaimed work. Ms. Hodgkinson, one of the dancers who originated the title role in the world premiere of Mr. Ratmansky's Romeo and Juliet, is in Russia until early October.

Ms. Hodgkinson returns to Toronto to make her debut in the role of Paulina in Christopher Wheeldon's The Winter's Tale, set to open the 2017/18 season at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, November 10-19, 2017.

In June, Ms. Hodgkinson was appointed to the Order of Ontario, the province's highest honour which recognizes individuals whose exceptional achievement in their fields have left a lasting legacy in the province, Canada and beyond. Last season Ms. Hodgkinson celebrated her 25th anniversary with the National Ballet and her 20th anniversary as a Principal Dancer, a milestone achieved by only two other dancers in the company's history: Artistic Director Karen Kain and former Principal Dancer Veronica Tennant.
