Dancap Productions will present SHREK THE MUSICAL with book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori. It will play the Toronto Centre for the Arts, through April 1, for two weeks only.

Originally opened on Broadway December, 2009, SHREK THE MUSICAL is based on the story and characters from William Steig's book Shrek!, as well as the Dreamworks Animation film Shrek, the first chapter of the Shrek movie series.

"I've seen all the Shrek movies and love them!" exclaimed Aubrey Dan, President of Dancap Productions. "There are two levels of humour in Shrek, one for the kids and one for the adults, so everyone has a great time. And while the movies may have 3D, nothing beats the exhilaration of a live performance; SHREK THE MUSICAL is a 4D experience you can only have at the theatre!"

SHREK THE MUSICAL tells the story of a swamp-dwelling ogre who goes on a life-changing adventure to reclaim the deed to his land. joined by a wise-cracking donkey, Shrek fights a fearsome dragon, rescues a feisty princess and learns that real friendship and true love aren't only found in fairy tales.
