Byron Toben's ever-enjoyable spring Literary/Musical Cabaret fundraising evening returns to the Atwater Library stage on Thursday, May 12. Last year's Tribute to Katharine Hepburn, celebrating her 103rd birthday and issuance of a postage stamp in her honour, raised money for The Actors' Fund of Canada.

For this season's cabaret, enjoy a world-premiere dramatic reading of Jesus of Arizona, a short, comedic play by our own Byron Toben! In Jesus of Arizona, Hollywood is filming a bible epic. Nothing can go wrong, can it? Featuring Janis Kirshner, Mary Ann Lacey, Pierre Lenoir, Gordon Masten, Mike Paterson and more stars than in the heavens!

Plus:
Music- Bernie Landry demonstrates the revolutionary 'Chapman Stick', Paul Serralheiro plays jazz and bossa nova, Carl Aboud dazzles on keyboard, Michele Chappaz sings jazz vocals.
Announcement of the winners of "The Search for Eileen Sullivan"; a world wide one-act playwrighting contest about the Irish Diaspora to North America, organized by Mr. Toben.

Since 2007, these Literary/Musical Cabarets have featured short play readings and a variety of musical acts by local talents. All have donated proceeds to various charitable good causes including the Actors' Fund, Breast Cancer Action Montreal, McGill Cancer Research, Meals on Wheels, NDG Food Depot and the Atwater Library Piano Fund.
