Acting Up Stage Theatre Company presents the Toronto premiere of Elegies: A Song Cycle running February 15 to March 3, 2007 at the Berkeley Street Upstairs Theatre in Toronto. How do we deal with loss in a post 9/11 world? Through the 18 stories told onstage, Tony Award winner William Finn (Falsettos, 25^th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) pays tribute to relatives and friends, long-lost pets, and the victims of 9/11, celebrating those who have passed on. Often hilarious, always touching, and very poignant, Elegies takes us on a musical journey that explores the modern world that we live in, and life's infinite joys.

 

Elegies stars Thom Allison (from the National Tour of RENT), Barbara Barsky (four time Dora-nominee), Steven Gallagher (Toronto's Urinetown), Lisa Horner (Shaw Festival), and Michael Strathmore (Shaw Festival). Joining director Lezlie Wade is a team that includes musical director Wayne Gwillim, stage manager Dot Routledge, set and costume designer Sarah Melamed, and lighting designer Paul Major. Artistic Producer Mitchell Marcus brings the show to Toronto.
