The St. Petersburg Opera Company will stage Georges Bizet's CARMEN on June 4 & 5 at 7:30pm, and June 6 at 2:00pm at the Palladium Theater.

Set in Seville, Spain, the story revolves around a beautiful gypsy, Carmen, with a fiery temper. Loose and wild with her love, she seduces the corporal Don José, an inexperienced soldier. Their relationship leads to his rejection of his former lover, mutiny against his superior, and joining a gang of smugglers. His jealousy when she spurns him for the bullfighter Escamillo leads him to murder. Our production will be sung in French with English supertitles. The costumes, set and music by Georges Bizet will remind you why this is one of the most popular operas of all time.
