Based on one of the biggest blockbuster films of all time (you know the one we mean), Squabbalogic Independent Musical Theatre is proud to present the Australian premiere of TRIASSIC PARQ as part of the Seymour Centre's Reginald Season, from today, 17th June to 4th July, 2015.

A wildly inventive musical, TRIASSIC PARQ revisits the classic movie from a different perspective... the dinosaurs'. It's your basic coming of age story, if you just replace the people with dinosaurs, the lengthy conversations with energetic musical numbers and the teenage angst with spontaneous gender change.

Chaos is unleashed in this hilarious satire when one female T-Rex suddenly turns male and the entire pack must question their identity, gender, and what is possible - examining love, faith and science through a comical lens... And with singing. Singing dinosaurs.

Directed by Squabbalogic artistic director Jay James-Moody (Man Of La Mancha), with musical direction by Mark Chamberlain (Strictly Ballroom) and choreography by Dean Vince (King Kong), TRIASSIC PARQ features a stellar cast of Sydney's finest emerging and established theatre talent, including Monique Sallé (A Chorus Line) as T-Rex 1, Adéle Parkinson (Legally Blonde: The Musical) as T-Rex 2, and Blake Erickson (Forbidden Broadway), Rob Johnson (Carrie: The Musical) and Keira Daley (LadyNerd) as Velociraptor of Faith, Velociraptor of Innocence, and Velociraptor of Science respectively. Mark Chamberlain pulls double duty as Pianosaurus, and Crystal Hegedis rounds out the cast as Mimeosaurus.

"I haven't laughed so hard reading a script than I did discovering Triassic Parq," said Jay James-Moody. "It's a comedy match made in heaven bringing my two favourite things, dinosaurs and musicals, together. It's Rocky Horror meets Jurassic Park, with fantastic and current themes of gender and identity peppered among gut-busting, hilarious comedy and songs."

A theological dinosaur sex comedy 65 million years in the making, what more could musical theatre devotees, comedy fans and pop culture aficionados ask for? Clever girl.
