Orchestra Victoria: Brilliant Brass Performs At The Governor's Performance Series ImageOne of Australia's leading orchestras, Orchestra Victoria, will delight audiences with a special brass performance in the Ballroom at Government House for the Governor's Performance Series on 26 June 2018.

Her Excellency the Honourable Linda Dessau AC Governor of Victoria and Mr Anthony Howard QC will open Government House for an evening of music. The free concert will feature an ensemble of 12 brass musicians from Orchestra Victoria, conducted by Simon Thew.

Government House hosts a variety of acclaimed musicians and community performances spanning a range of music genres in this series. This June, the state's premier opera and ballet orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, will present an all-brass program featuring sublime antiphonal works and toe-tapping favourites from composers including Gabrielli, Respighi and Bach.

Light refreshments will be served after the performance and audiences will be offered an opportunity to visit Government House and the State Apartments.

Commenting on the concert, Artistic Director of Orchestra Victoria Nicolette Fraillon said: "We're thrilled to be returning to Government House for the Governor's Performance Series. This annual event not only showcases the best of Victoria's musicians in a rare and beautiful setting, it also gives audiences the chance to explore Government House."

Entry to the Governor's Performance Series is free to members of the public and bookings are essential.
