This September, Sydney-siders will get the chance to catch a totally unique show. A show that has been enjoying sold out seasons and rave reviews all around the world. For just 5 nights during the Sydney Fringe Festival, Aussie physical theatre troupe, Head First Acrobats will bring their multi award-winning show Elixir to the Seymour Centre.

Those lucky enough to nab a ticket are in for an experience like no other!

Fresh from their smash-hit season at the Edinburgh Festival Underbelly Circus Hub this year and their sold out, award winning tour of the UK, the spunky Melbournites of Head First Acrobats have chosen Sydney as their first stop in a new Australian tour of Elixir. The Reginald Theatre at the Seymour Centre will be transformed to house the hilarity and breath-taking physical feats of this astounding show.

Elixir is circus like never before - Elixir is subversive, naughty, hilarious and totally smashes the standard circus mould. CAllan Harris, Thomas Gorham and Rowan Thomas have utterly reimagined circus, producing a modern and witty, narrative-based show that is truly funny without losing any of the traditional, circus charm audiences have loved for centuries. The trio of Head First Acrobats will fly 5 metres into the air on the teeterboard, spin upside down on the mesmerising Roue Cyr wheel, perform incredible one arm handstands on wobbling canes, and balance on nothing but their heads on a swinging trapeze!

What really sets Elixir apart is that it is much more than a mere showcase of incredible physical stunts - the show is an action-packed hour that revolves around an eccentric but cohesive storyline following three bumbling scientists who attempt to create the elixir of life in a chaotic search for eternal youth. The sharply crafTed Mayhem that ensues is a delightful mix of impeccable acrobatics and superior comedy.

Elixir was first devised in 2013 by Gorham and Harris, both National Institute of Circus graduates who have performed for numerous high-profile clients including Coca Cola, Wonderland Spiegeltent and Crown Casino. In 2015, the addition of Rowan Thomas, world-renowned for his unique style on the Roue Cyr wheel and natural aptitude as a clown, achieved the perfect balance of acrobatics and comedy that has been wowing audiences the world over.

Since 2015, Elixir and the Head First Acrobats have barely stopped touring around the country and internationally. In the last 18 months, Elixir has played to sold-out houses at the Woodford Folk Festival, WA Circus Festival, Perth Fringe Festival, Adelaide fringe Festival, Brighton Fringe Festival UK, Glastonbury Festival UK, Avignon Festival France, Edinburgh Fringe Festival UK. The future is bright Elixir has already been picked up for LonDon Wonderground 2017.

Packed with comedy, a bit of saucy innuendo, a brilliant story and top-shelf circus art, Elixir is one of the hottest tickets on the Sydney Fringe program. These boys are going to bring down the big-top!
