DER NUSSKNACKER Comes to Theater Basel

This ‹Nussknacker› leaves behind all the pomp and kitsch of a flowery fairytale world. Light becomes dark. The slick becomes structured. Psychological depth of focus dissolves the harmlessness of the Christmas story, and even Tchaikovsky's music reveals itself anew.
After his legendary interpretation in 2006, Marco Goecke creates a completely new choreography for Basel - without sugar-coating, but with a mysteriously deep magic.
