Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama - Musical Theatre


In this B.F.A. in drama program, you'll learn the skills necessary to fulfill your dreams as a performer. As a drama major, you can choose between two specialized tracks, acting or musical theater performance. Students specializing in acting will focus on advanced acting techniques, directing, technical theater and playwriting, and students specializing in musical theater performance will study singing and vocal techniques, dance, music theory and musical theater history. No matter what track you choose, you'll gain a firm foundation in acting, auditioning, script analysis, history, voice and movement. Lynn University's theater program blends traditional and contemporary theatrical training methods through innovative approaches that keep pace with the demands of the industry. If you're interested in this program, you must audition and fill out a Lynn University application and one through Acceptd.

The Virginia Theatre Festival has announced its 2026 season, which will include three productions presented in Charlottesville. The lineup features a new Sherlock Holmes play by Ken Ludwig, the Tony Award-winning musical Disney’s Newsies, and a one-woman play exploring the life of artist Frida Kahlo. The season will run across multiple venues at the University of Virginia.
