Thank you for visiting the ESU Theatre website! Emporia State University has one of the oldest--founded in 1913--and strongest theatre programs in the country, with well over a thousand graduates. Many are working across the country in professional and academic theatre. Through the years we have had an extraordinary faculty, energetic students, exceptional community support and outstanding facilities. It is a tradition of excellence that continues today. At ESU, students can earn a BFA or BA in theatre, or gain certification to become a secondary teacher in our BSE program in speech and theatre. We are proud to be a part of an outstanding department, Communication and Theatre. Our students receive individual attention from our committed and celebrated faculty and staff. ESU Theatre is an active participant of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company (CSC) has announced that Associate Artistic Director Adam Sanders has assumed the position of Managing Director of CSC. His past position of Associate Artistic Director will be filled by Elliot Norton Award-winning director Bryn Boice, who will be in charge of CSC's Apprentice Program, CSC2 and Stage2, CSC's Shakespeare performances for young audiences. They will both support Artistic Director Steven Maler in continuing the work of CSC for future seasons.
