St. Louis-based That Uppity Theatre Company and the University of Central Oklahoma are proud to announce a series production of a new play by acclaimed playwright Eric Ulloa, '26 Pebbles'. Presented in partnership with the Missouri Chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and 'Painting for Peace in Ferguson', the play combines live music, singing, and interviews from Newtown residents as they recount the ripples in their community in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. The play isn't merely about trauma; it is also about how a community banded together to heal and reshape their community in the wake of what is both a local and national tragedy.

For more than three decades, George Christie was among the most prominent leaders of the Hells Angels biker organization. He was prosecuted and persecuted; hunted and hated, but always respected, even by his enemies, of which there were many. Now, Christie shares his journey from accused (though not convicted) murderer and arsonist to legitimate business owner and family man in the new, solo stage production OUTLAW. Written and directed by Richard La Plante, OUTLAW is coming to the Playhouse @ Westport Plaza June 29-July 1. ROMEO & JULIET Opens In Forest Park

Elena Araoz, a critically acclaimed New York-based director of opera and theater, will bring to life the tragedy of star-crossed lovers "Romeo & Juliet" June 1-24 at Shakespeare Glen in Forest Park. The production will feature a garage band trio from Omaha, hanging lanterns and streamers in the trees, an ultra-modern and uniquely lit set, and of course, the infamous balcony and a colorful moon for the two teenaged characters. The show, which begins at 8 p.m., is scheduled nightly, excluding Tuesdays. Preview performances are set for May 30-31.

The Chamber Music Society of St. Louis (CMMSL) today announced that Maestro Leonard Slatkin must regrettably withdraw from his upcoming appearance at the CMSSL's 10th Anniversary Gala "Notes From Hollywood - The Sequel" May 21, 2018. Slatkin will undergo heart bypass surgery next week and is expected to fully recover in about three months. He is also cancelling upcoming dates in Europe and with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
