The Sheldon presents An Evening with Chad and Jeremy, Friday, October 23, 2009 at 8 p.m. in the perfect acoustics of the Sheldon Concert Hall. Chad Stuart and Jeremy Clyde met at drama school in 1960 and began playing the folk clubs of England where they were soon discovered. After a brief moment of fame in England, Chad and Jeremy became a touring sensation in America on the wave of the British Invasion, charting 11 Top 40 hits including "Summer Song," "Yesterday's Gone," "Willow Weep for Me," and "Distant Shores." The duo began making appearances on numerous TV shows including Dick Van Dyke, Patti Duke, Batman and The Tonight Show.

Some of Chad & Jeremy's most critically acclaimed studio work was the progressive 1967 release Of Cabbages and Kings and the 1968 album The Ark which pushed the envelope of "Acid Pop" and was a statement on the times in which they lived. After 1969, the duo disbanded and went separate ways. They reunited for an album and tour in the 1980s as well as a British musical. However, it would not be until PBS asked them to do a special in 2003 that they would be back in full force. Since then, the duo has performed all over the United States, Hawaii and the Philippines.

The year 2008 was their busiest since 1968. Their latest album, Ark-eology, contains all new versions of Chad & Jeremy's greatest hits including "Summer Song," "Yesterday's Gone," "Homeward Bound" and more. Their recent documentary, titled Yesterday's Back, was released this year and is currently being shown by PBS Rhode Island and is being reviewed by PBS affiliates nationally. In early 2010 a CD of all new material titled Zanzibar Sunset will be released, a first for them in over 25 years.
