STAGES St. Louis has received five awards from the St. Louis Theater Circle during its fourth-annual awards ceremony this past Monday. The Theater Circle Awards - presented by an organization of local critics - honor the outstanding work by actors, directors, designers and playwrights of St. Louis professional theatre in the preceding year.

STAGES received eleven Theatre Circle nominations, with its production of Anything Goes leading as the most nominated show of the year with nine nominations. With five awards, STAGES tied with The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis as receiving more awards than any other theatre. STAGES' Theatre Circle Awards include:

Outstanding Production of a Musical: Anything Goes
Outstanding Director of a Musical: Michael Hamilton, Anything Goes
Outstanding Ensemble in a Musical: Anything Goes
Outstanding Costume Design in a Musical: Brad Musgrove, Anything Goes
Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Musical: Zoe Vonder Haar, The Full Monty

The Theatre Circle Awards follow a streak of several momentous honors STAGES has enjoyed leading into its 30th Anniversary Season. Earlier this year, STAGES was recognized by the Missouri Arts Council with the prestigious 2016 Missouri Arts Award in the category of Arts Organization, the highest award an arts organization can receive in the state of Missouri. STAGES was singled out not only for its 30 years of producing exceptional Broadway-quality shows, but also for reaching thousands of students through the ever-expanding educational programming in its Performing Arts Academy.

In January, STAGES received an unprecedented 15 Awards from BroadwayWorld St. Louis, including Best Theatre Company. The BroadwayWorld St. Louis Awards celebrated the incredible productions and talent in STAGES' 2015 Season. All three of STAGES' 2015 Mainstage productions also topped Chris Gibson's (BroadwayWorld St. Louis) "Best of 2015" list and Judy Newmark of The Post-Dispatch awarded STAGES' 2015 production of Anything Goes with outstanding categories of "Best Couple," "Best Costumes," and "Best Musical (big and bold)."

"What an extraordinary salute to our 2015 Season and kick off to our 30th Anniversary," stated Executive Producer Jack Lane. "We certainly have much to celebrate as our musical productions continue to be recognized for quality and excellence. It is thrilling to be part of such an exceptional theatre community and we look forward to continuing to make a difference in the St. Louis area and beyond as we move into an exciting and promising fourth decade."

STAGES St. Louis is the region's foremost not-for-profit company committed to preserving and advancing the art form of Musical Theatre through excellence in performance and education. In 2016, STAGES celebrates its 30th year of producing Broadway-quality theatre, presenting 144 performances from May through October to nearly 50,000 patrons.

STAGES' 2016 Anniversary Season begins with the Mid-Western premiere of the mad-cap romantic musical comedy direct from Broadway, IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU (June 3 - July 3). The season continues with one of STAGES' most frequently requested return shows, the five-time Tony winner, THE DROWSY CHAPERONE (July 22 - August 21). Audiences will rejoice for the season's grande finale, SISTER ACT (September 9 - October 9), an uplifting and miraculous tale of self-discovery and finding one's true calling. The celebration kicks off June 3 and continues through October 9, 2016. In addition, the 2016 Season Theatre for Young Audiences production will feature Disney's ALICE IN WONDERLAND June 15 - July 3.

Subscriptions to the 2016 Season are currently available and begin at just $99. Single tickets go on sale April 4th and prices range from $20 - $59. STAGES performs in the intimate, 377-seat Robert G. Reim Theatre at the Kirkwood Civic Center, 111 South Geyer Road in St. Louis, MO.
