PURPLE HEART CITY Comes to Tesseract Theatre
By: A.A. Cristi
The Tesseract Theatre Company will continue its fifth season with PURPLE HEART CITY, a new play written by Artistic Director Taylor Gruenloh.
The Story: Nobody has seen Daniel in eighteen months. When he suddenly returns home, hoping to pick life up where he left it, he finds a family that is slow to forgive him. He also finds a community that is tired and haunted by a past of having nuclear waste illegally dumped in it's creeks and backyards. When the world around you is designed to keep you tired and sick, how do you find the energy to fight? Tickets: Available by calling MetroTix at (314) 534-1111, at the Fabulous Fox box office, or by visiting http://www.metrotix.com Who: The production will be directed by Managing Director and company founder Brittanie Gunn. The cast of Purple Heart City will feature Tesseract Theatre Core Ensemble members Ashley Netzhammer, Kelvin Urday, and Darrious Varner. The cast will also feature Rachel Bailey and Helen Pancella.
Tesseract tells big stories small. The company's mission is to be an artistic home for diverse artists and a leader in new play development in the Midwest.
