First Run Theatre Now Accepting Scripts for New Plays Submission Competition

First Run Theatre, dedicated to producing new plays by St. Louis area playwrights, is accepting scripts for its 9th Annual New Plays Submissions Competition. The plays submitted will be considered for First Run's 2011 - 2012 season. To be considered for this years competition all scripts must be received by November, 30 2010. Scripts received after this date will be held for consideration for next years competition.

Submission Requirements:
1. Playwright must be living in the St. Louis region (the city of St. Louis MO and surrounding Missouri and Illinois counties).
2. Play must be unpublished and unproduced in its present form at the time of submission.
3. Play may be either a one-act (30 minutes or more) or two-act.
4. If play is a musical, then a CD of the music with accompaniment and vocals must be submitted with script.
5. Scripts should not contain the playwright's name or any contact information. That information should be submitted in a separate contact sheet.

First Run Theatre normally has three productions a year May, August and January. Tentatively accepted scripts will be announced in January. These scripts will be given a public reading over a three-day weekend in February. From these scripts the finalists will be chosen to be produced in the next season starting that Spring.
