According to CBS St. Louis, Aladdin, starring Tony nominees Robin de Jesus and John Tartaglia as Aladdin and the Genie, was the best-attended production at The Muny in St. Louis this summer. The show sold 74,857 tickets across its nine performances and boasted an average of 8,317 per performance.

Dreamgirls, starring Jennifer Holliday of the original Broadway production, took second place with 52,865 attendees and averaging 7,552 per performance.

Chicago came in third, while the The King and I placed fourth, followed respectively by Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Pirates!

Overall 2012 attendance was close to last year's 362,851 patrons. There is speculation that the hot temperatures did not allow the 2012 season to surpass 2011's numbers. Note also that all figures include 1,500 free seats given away by The Muny for each performance.
