Our stage may be dark for a while longer, but we'll be bringing the LIGHTS UP! for a special virtual event.On Saturday, July 25, we will be celebrating the return of theatre with an evening of cabaret performances called LIGHTS UP! The event will showcase the high caliber of acts we are able to bring to the CIVIC thanks to the support of our patrons and sponsors.The evening will feature performances by:Acclaimed baritone and South Bend native Nathan Gunn, accompanied by his wife Julie, performing an eclectic setSelections from next year's joint production of "West Side Story" with the South Bend Symphony, including an instrumental version of "Somewhere" by Jacqueline Choi and "Tonight" live in a remote shot from New York featuring Broadway performer and South Bend native Nicholas Belton, as well asAlexandra Imbrosci-Viera, who will be playing Maria in our show Jamarcus Fields performing a rap excerpt from "Heartless," a powerful piece originated at the CIVICCIVIC audience favorite Ben Little performing a scene selection highlighting the 10-year August Wilson ProjectMembers of the casts of the CIVIC's forthcoming (postponed until 2021) productions of Xanadu and MatildaA small group of familiar faces from CIVIC productions performing ensemble numbers, including a finale with Nathan GunnWe believe that the arts can be healing and that live theatre brings people together like nothing else can. During this time of isolation and polarization, join us for this free virtual celebration of the arts to benefit the CIVIC.Although the event is free to watch, donations will be accepted. South Bend Civic Theatre Suspends Remainder Of In-person Scheduled Season
