Jazzart Dance Theatre Announces Additional 40th Anniversary Celebrations

Jazzart Dance Theatre is turning 40 this year. In celebration, they are hosting various events to raise funds for the company and its associated outreach programmes. If you are a lover of dance, come and see moving performances from Jazzart Dance Theatre with a delicious dinner on 27 November and a company performance at Artscape Arena from 5 to 8 December.

On 27 November, indulge in an entire evening of dinner and dance. See the discipline of the dancers showcasing the Jazzart technique and movement. This event will take place at the Beautifull Life Building on Bree Street, which is the home of Youngblood Arts & Culture Development. It is a fluid, interactive space that inspires creativity from which young talent can grow.

On 5 to 8 December, the Artistic Director, Jacqueline Manyaapelo will choreograph the work RUBY. The work explores the centres of power and the individuals that have the power to transform society. The venue is the Arena at Artscape which is an intimate space, where audiences will engage with the dancers at a deeper and meaningful level.

Come and see contemporary dance taken to the next level. You will be able to get up close and personal with the dancers, moving and dancing throughout these exciting evening events.

Pledge: R140 per person

RUBY
Date: 5 to 8 December 2013
Time: 8pm and Sunday at 6pm
Address: The Arena at Artscape, cnr. Hertzog Boulevard and DF Malan, Cape Town
Cost: Opening night at R180 includes drinks and canapes and all other performances at R140.
