Charles Tertiens as Al Dente in C'EST BIZARRE

C'EST BIZARRE - a quirky soiree of dysfunctional delight, filled with music, comedy and magic - promises to be an hour of pure entertainment for audiences at the Alexander Bar and Café's Upstairs Theatre this June.

Comedy magician and actor Charles Tertiens, known to audiences as a performer in the hit dinner theatre show Madame Zingara and as Karl Ahari from Karahari.com's prominent advertising campaign, has teamed up with Ghia Koch-Human, songstress and cabaret character wiz, to create this new show of surprises, thrills and laughter.

C'EST BIZARRE offers a triple bill of acts, two featuring Tertiens and one by Koch-Human. As well as doing a #CptBachelor act featuring the hashtag that he has made popular through his Twitter account, Tertiens celebrates the tenth anniversary of the Al Dente the Great, reuniting the trio of performers that originally created the act. Al Dente is the grandest, flashiest magician in town and a vaudevillian cad whose magic never quite goes his way. An incredible maestro who endeavours to blow the audience's minds, his assistant (played by Eve McVey) is always ready to steal the show. Victor Tichart joins Tertiens and McVey at the piano for the Al Dente act.

Koch-Human will appear the tormented Gigi La Chanteuse, a never-dying cabaret diva who appears alongside a rather unusually deceased stagehand, who Gigi attempts to revive through mime and song.

C'EST BIZARRE runs from 13 - 15 June at 19:00, with tickets costing R90 - R100. Bookings can be made online at the Alexander Bar website or purchased at the bar. For telephone bookings and enquiries, call 021 300 1652. Alexander Bar & Café is situated at 76 Strand Street in the Cape Town city centre and can be followed on Facebook and Twitter.
