Singapore International Band Festival is a biennial festival consisting of competition, workshops, exchange and an outreach programme tha brings together over 60 bands from all over the world for an exchange of musical ideas and practices to develop musical excellence.

The SIBF gala concert features one of Asia’s best bands, the Kasetsart University Winds Symphony & Nontri Orchestra Wind, a semi-professional wind band consisting of music students and alumni. Having won a gold prize at the World Music Contest in 2013, the KU Winds and N.O.W performs in Singapore to showcase a collection of wind band classics and contemporary Thai compositions.

Led by conductors Surapol Thanyawibool, Nipatdh Kanchanahuta and Douglas Bostock, the programme includes David Maslanka’s Symphony no. 7, Hanuman Monkey God and Hero of the Ramayana by Thai composer Jinnawat Mansup, and all-time favourite Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky.
