Geva Theatre Center presents La Cage Aux Folles, with book by Harvey Fierstein, music and lyrics by Jerry Herman, based on the play by Jean Poiret, directed by Melissa Rain Anderson, with musical direction by Don Kot, and choreography by Sam Hay in the Elaine P. Wilson Stage from September 3 through October 6. 

There is tremendous support in our audience for bringing younger people into the theatre, and we're having some success in that regard. I'm positive, but I'm also unsure of where we are headed with digital technologies and what they mean for our industry and the larger culture. Our challenge, I suppose, is to be adaptive to what comes along without giving up the wisdom and glories of the past.

Jez Butterworth's The Ferryman - the critically-acclaimed new play recently named to an industry-leading 25 Best-Of-The-Year lists - will welcome many new cast members beginning Tuesday, February 19, with Brian d'Arcy James leading as Quinn Carney.

London Classic Theatre returns to the Everyman with their production of Noel Coward's comedy masterpiece, Private Lives. Olivia Beardsley and Helen Keeley reprise their roles as Sibyl Chase and Amanda Prynne and they are joined by three new cast members: Gareth Bennett-Ryan (Elyot Chase), Paul Sandys (Victor Prynne) and Rachael Holmes-Brown (Louise).

Geva Theatre Center's 2017-2018 Fielding Studio Series concludes with the world premiere of Heartland by Gabriel Jason Dean. This production features Artistic Director Mark Cuddy in his return to the stage and is directed by Pirronne Yousefzadeh. The production begins performances on March 15 and runs in the Fielding Stage through April 1.

Victory Gardens Theater continues its 43rd season with BREACH: a manifesto on race in america through the eyes of a black girl recovering from self-hate, written by Antoinette Nwandu and directed by Lisa Portes. BREACH runs February 9 - March 11, 2018, with the press performance on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 7:30pm at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

In the interest of alt-holiday hilarity, Drafthouse Comedy Theater proudly presents The SantaLand Diaries by best-selling humorist David Sedaris, adapted by acclaimed theater director Joe Montello. Broadway actor Cameron Folmar stars as a gay, out-of-work writer who lands a job as a Macy's elf and spills the beans behind the scenes. Directed by DC theater veteran Lynn Sharp Spears, the solo show about a puckish Santa's helper runs December 7 to 23, 2017, at 1100 13th Street NW, Washington, DC, a quick walk from the Metro.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey wraps its 2017 season with a delightful adaptation of a treasured holiday film, It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play. After a successful staged reading of the play in 2016, director Doug West returns to direct this new take on a beloved tale. Adapter Joe Landry has brought the 1946 film to the stage where he has gathered a troupe of radio actors and live Foley sound artists to perform It's a Wonderful Life in a 1940s radio station. Two new plays offer radically different takes on the search for redemption whenIAMA Theatre Company opens its 10th Anniversary Seasonwith two company member-written world premieres.

In her first season as Artistic Director of the Gate Theatre, Ellen McDougall presents Suzy Storck, directed by celebrated French director Jean-Pierre Baro, in his debut UK production. Baro, one of the most exciting new artists in French theatre, directs Kate Duchene (Madam Storck), Caoilfhionn Dunne (Suzy Storck), Jonah Russell (Hans Vasilly Kruez) and Theo Solomon (Chorus). The upcoming National Touring Production of WAITRESS, the new Broadway musical from Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles inspired by Adrienne Shelley's 2007 motion picture, will be led by Desi Oakley (Les Miserables, Evita) as Jenna, and Lenne Klingaman as Dawn with Bryan Fenkhart (Memphis) as Dr. Pomatter, Nick Bailey ('Red Oaks') as Earl and Ryan G. Tympanic Theatre Company presents WAITING FOR GODOT by Samuel Beckett. The production, directed by Aaron Mays, features an all-Latino cast - exploring the similarities between the elusive 'Godot' and the Latinx experience in the pursuit of the 'American Dream.'

irector Timothy J. Evans, presents the World Premiere of Faceless, written by Selina Fillinger and directed by BJ Jones. Faceless runs January 26 - March 4, 2017 at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie. The press opening is scheduled for Friday, February 3 at 8 pm.

Samuel Beckett (1906-1989) is widely recognized as one of the greatest dramatists of the 20th century. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1969, and is best known for his play Waiting for Godot which launched his career in theater. He then went on to write numerous successful full-length plays including Endgame in 1957, Krapp's Last Tape in 1958 and Happy Days in 1960, as well as several short, one-act plays. While his plays may not be for everyone, Beckett's works capture the pathos and ironies of modern life, yet still maintain his faith in man's capacity for compassion and survival no matter how absurd his environment may have become.

The KOAN Unitkicks off the new year with Beckett5, a quintet of darkly humorous, seldom-seen short plays by Samuel Beckett opening January 21 at the Odyssey Theatre.

Laguna Playhouse Artistic Director Ann E. Wareham is thrilled to announce the third show in the Laguna Playhouse 2016-2017 season, CHAPATTI, written by Christian O'Reilly and directed by David Ellenstein, based on the direction of Judith Ivey. "I just fell in love with this play and the beautiful and quirky love story at its center.  I think our audiences are about to fall in love with it too," says Wareham.  CHAPATTI will begin previews on Wednesday, January 11; will open on Sunday, January 15 at 5:30pm and will run through Sunday, January 29, 2016 at the Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach.

First Family Entertainment are delighted to announce that renowned choreographer Arlene Phillips will be making her pantomime debut as Fairy Bowbells in New Wimbledon Theatre's Christmas Pantomime, Dick Whittington, from Friday 9 December 2016 to Sunday 15 January 2017, with a press night on Tuesday 13 December.
