The Open House 2014

Portland Playhouse kicks off its 11th Season with Will Eno's Wakey, Wakey. Written during Eno's five year residency at New York's Signature Theatre Company, Wakey, Wakey asks What are we here for? Is time a friend or an enemy? Do we all eventually end up in the same place, but take different routes to get there? This funny, moving, and thought-provoking new play challenges the notion of what really matters and recognizes the importance of life's simple pleasures. (All of which might sound dreary, but there's a chance this will be a really good experience.)

The reading will take place June 18 at 7pm at Polonsky Shakespeare Center (262 Ashland Place, Brooklyn, NY).

Pink House Productions announced today the New York City premier of YOU, ME AND THAT GUY, a hilarious 80 minute comedy about a recent college grad who uses the magic of a mystical open mic to heal her relationships with her technology saturated family and friends. Written by Stephen Sanow*, YOU, ME AND THAT GUY will open the 2014 Araca Project.

Kitchen Theatre Company begins its 24th Season on September 10, 2014 with the world premiere of an outrageous new comedy, The House by Brian Parks. Downsizing couple, Martyn and Shanny, have struck a For Sale By Owner deal with upsizing couple, Lindsay and Fischer. The empty nesters are set to move to a condo, and the young couple is ready to move in and start a family. But a house full of everything a family accumulates is a lot to pack, so the new owners have given the sellers a few weeks to finish the job.

The 2014 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway will be handed out tonight at NYU Skirball Center beginning at 7:00pm EST, and hosted by acclaimed husband and wife actors and comedians, Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman. Throughout the 2013-2014 season Retro Productions has been workshopping Christie Perfetti Williams full length play, AN APPEAL TO THE WOMAN OF THE HOUSE. Born out of the Retro Productions 20th Century Salon in the fall of 2012, AN APPEAL TO THE WOMAN OF THE HOUSE will have its World Premiere in May 2014 and is being directed by DeLisa White.

It's the perfect date night show, just in time for Valentine's Day! The Love List, by Norm Foster, is set to open at the Old Opera House in Charles Town, WV on February 7. Directed by D.C. Cathro, this new thought-provoking comedy is perfect for singles and couples alike.
