Birdland recently presented singer/actress Karen Akers at the iconic club on Monday, November 20. The show, titled “Water Under The Bridge,” was directed by Sara Louise Lazarus, musical directed by Alex Rybeck, with Tom Hubbard on bass. Check out photos here!
The first trade ads for NINE's Academy Awards Campaign have been released. One ad promotes the consideration of Michael Tolkin and Anthony Minghella for Best Adapted Screenplay, while the other promotes the film's leading man Daniel Day-Lewis to be considered in all categories, including Best Actor.
NINE will have a limited release on December 18th in New York and Los Angeles and will then go on wide release on December 25th. The film had its official New York premiere at the Ziegefeld Theatre in New York City on December 15, 2009.
A special screening of the NINE film was held for members of the Broadway community on December 14, 2009, one day ahead of the film's official NY premiere and BroadwayWorld.com was there! Before the film, Rob Marshall and some members of the film's starry cast stopped by to pay tribute to the show's Broadway roots.

Thea Sharrock will direct Clare Higgins in the title role of Mrs Klein in the first London revival of Nicholas Wright's play. Mrs Klein previews at the Almeida Theatre from 22 October 2009 with press night on 29 October 2009 and will run until 5 December 2009. Joining Clare Higgins are Nicola Walker as Paula and Zoe Waites as Melitta. Designs are by Tim Hatley with lighting by Neil Austin and sound by Ian Dickinson.

The film, starring Daniel Day-Lewis, and Nicole Kidman, is scheduled to hit cinemas November 25, 2009. The all-star cast is directed by Rob Marshall, who also helmed critically-acclaimed 2002 musical Chicago - which garnered six Academy Awards, including a Best Supporting Actress gong for Catherine Zeta-Jones. Marion Cotillard, Kate Hudson, Stacy 'Fergie' Ferguson, Sophia Loren, Penelope Cruz and Judi Dench star in the film as well.
