Dinner at Eight Photos - Broadway

Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances. Not all news was good though, as we also suffered a loss of an incredible amount of talent. Below, BroadwayWorld sends a fond farewell to those who passed away in 2014.

Virginia Repertory Theatre presents the award-winning musical, Mame, at the Sara Belle and Neil November Theatre, 114 West Broad Street, running through January 11, 2014. Mame is based on the novel, Auntie Mame, by Patrick Dennis with a book by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee and unforgettable music and lyrics by Jerry Herman. The show originally opened on Broadway in 1966 and starred Angela Lansbury and Beatrice Arthur. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

On the first Sunday of each month at Kritzerland at Sterling's Upstairs at The Federal, dinner cabaret nights are presented to packed houses. Due to the Oscars, this month's event was held on Monday, March 3, saluting THE PRINCE AND THE SHOWTUNE: A TRIBUTE TO HAROLD PRINCE whose career has spanned over sixty years and who, as producer and/or director is responsible for some of the greatest musical theater triumphs of all time.

Emmy, Golden Globe and Grammy Award-winning star of screen, television and stage, Beau Bridges, returns to Broadway for the first time in 38 years in his first musical as J. B. Biggley, beginning today for 6 months through Sunday, July 1, 2012. Mr. Bridges will co-star with GLEE star Darren Criss through January 22 and then Nick Jonas (January 24, 2012 - July 1, 2012). The new marquee featuring the famous newbies is going up today and BroadwayWorld has just captured the in-progress shots. The beloved, Tony Award-winning actress Marian Seldes was honored at the 2011 LOVE 'N' COURAGE Gala - a benefit for the award-winning Theater for the New City's Emerging Playwrights Program - on Monday, February 28.

Westport Country Playhouse will stage the joyful and touching musical, 'I Do! I Do!,' starring Tony Award nominee Kate Baldwin and Drama Desk Award nominee Lewis Cleale, August 10 - 28, as part of its 80th Anniversary Season.
