The first gay Broadway proposal happened last night at Priscilla Queen of the desert. Yuri Rodriguez proposed to his partner Stephen Troiano in front of a packed house of almost 1700 audience members at the Palace Theatre.

The best of Broadway was presented free on six consecutive Thursdays this summer with '106.7 Lite fm's Broadway in Bryant Park 2011' - a lunchtime series that began on Thursday July 7th on the Bryant Park Stage. Sponsored by Bank of America, and Clean Air NY, and hosted by Lite fm's on-air personalities, the eleventh annual presentation of open-air, On- and Off- Broadway lunch hour performances concluded yesterday, August 11th.

Following smash hit productions in Australia, London and Toronto, PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL began previews on Broadway on February 28 and opened March 20th, presented by Bette Midler. PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL stars Will Swenson, Tony Sheldon and Nick Adams as the trio of friends on a heart-warming, uplifting road trip of a lifetime who hop aboard a battered old bus searching for love and friendship in the middle of the Australian outback and end up finding more than they could ever have dreamed. The cast of PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL performed on the premiere results show of season 6 of NBC's hit summer talent competition series 'America's Got Talent' last night. Tony-nominee Will Swenson led the cast in a diva-tastic medley of some of Priscilla's most popular songs - 'Finally,' 'Shake Your Groove Thing,' and 'MacArthur Park' - featuring the show's trademark 2011 Tony-winning costumes designed by Oscar and Tony-winning designers Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner.

PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT has just debuted a brand new TV commercial, featuring a voice-over by the show's producer, Bette Midler. The ad focuses on three best friends on a road trip of a lifetime, one searching for fame, one for love and one for home. To view the new spot, click below.

As previously reported, the cast of PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT will be performing the show stopper 'It's Raining Men' at the Tony Awards ceremony on Sunday, June 12. The performance will be broadcast as part of the ceremony on CBS.
