Acclaimed director Mark Brokaw, whose visionary work spanned Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional theaters across the United States and abroad, has passed away after a battle with cancer. 

The Dramatists Guild of America is presenting season four of The Dramatists Guild Presents: TALKBACK. The Guild celebrates writers from a diverse array of backgrounds and how they’ve built meaningful careers within a constantly evolving industry. TheatreWorks Silicon Valley announced its 52nd season, featuring six plays and musicals to be presented November 2022 through August 2023. Three of the season's productions will be mounted at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, and three will be staged at Palo Alto's Lucie Stern Theatre. The fourth annual FilmTwo Initiative launches today in LA to support the career sustainability of thirteen artists developing their second features. FilmTwo encompasses two days of focused programming, including a writing workshop (led by Joan Tewkesbury), industry mentoring sessions, and one-on-one story meetings, kicking off a year of tailored creative and tactical support as part of the Institute's continuum of support for artists at key inflection points in their careers. The Lark Play Development Center has announced the selected playwrights for the 2008-09 Playwrights' Workshop Fellows 2008. This year's writers include Thomas Bradshaw (Southern Promises), Samuel D. Hunter (Lark's 2008 PONY Fellow), Lisa Kron (Well), Deirdre O'Connor (Hero), and Playwright-in-Residence Arthur Kopit (Lark Playwright Advisor).

Two celebrated figures in the theatre, actress Lisa Kron and playwright Deb Margolin, will be reunited for the first time in twenty years when Six Figures Theatre Company and Purple Man Theater present Ms. Kron in the world premiere of Ms. Margolin's newest work, TIME IS THE MERCY OF ETERNITY -- four short plays about the effects of love, violence, and obsession on the body and soul -- with previews set to begin April 21 prior to its official press opening April 22 at West End Theatre (263 West 86th Street) in Manhattan.

2.5 Minute Ride, the roller coaster play by Lisa Kron, will have an Off-Broadway engagement in 2008, with performances beginning Friday, January 18, at Altered Stages

The 2006 Tony Award-Nominated comedy Well arrives to the Arena Stage, running September 14 to October 14 in the Fichandler. The press opening performance is Thursday, September 20 at 8PM.

Obie Award-winner Lisa Kron (writer, star of Well) will join the cast of the acclaimed Naked Angels production of Spalding Gray: Stories Left To Tell beginning tomorrow (Wednesday) through June 3rd at the Minetta Lane Theatre, taking on the role of 'Love' during Kathleen Chalfant's vacation.
