San Francisco Opera’s 2024 Fall Season will conclude with the return of Georges Bizet’s Carmen from November 13–December 1 at the War Memorial Opera House.

Amit Sharma has announced the full cast for the world première of Rob Drummond's Pins and Needles which opens his first season as Artistic Director at Kiln Theatre. Sharma directs Richard Cant, Gavi Singh Chera, Brian Vernel and Sharlene Whyte.

Toronto Fringe has announced the 34th Annual Toronto Fringe Festival will once again be live in-person, in 11 indoor venues across the city July 6 - 17, 2022, including the dearly missed KidsFest, plus two POSTSCRIPT hubs. The full schedule and box office details for Toronto Fringe will be revealed June 22, 2022.

The production runs from July 26th through August 20th.

On the Los Angeles Opera website, Igor Stravinsky’s Oedipus Rex is available to stream now thru July 18th. Stravinsky based his opera Oedipus Rex on the ancient Greek tragedy by Sophocles. Oedipus Rex, is staged with minimal movement, which works well with COVID restrictions. A narrator describes the action in English.

The Kennedy Center Honors announced today that its honorees for 2017 will be actress, dancer and choreographer Carmen de Lavallade, singer-songwriter and actress Gloria Estefan, hip hop artist LL COOL J, television writer and producer Norman Lear and renowned musician and record producer Lionel Richie.

The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra returns to Carnegie Hall this February for three concerts on consecutive evenings in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, conducted by Franz Welser-Most. During each of the three concerts, the orchestra highlights the music of Franz Schubert, beginning with the overture to Die Zauberharfe on its opening program on Friday, February 24 at 8:00 p.m., which is heard alongside Strauss's Ein Heldenleben, Op. 40 and the United States premiere of Rene Staar'sTime Recycling. Alongside his work as a composer, Mr. Staar is a longtime violinist with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.

General Director Plácido Domingo has announced the repertory and artist roster for the company's 2016/17 season. Created by Mr. Domingo in collaboration with Music Director James Conlon and President and CEO Christopher Koelsch, the season will include six mainstage productions and a classic musical presented at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. A total of 40 performances will take place in that venue, while an additional 13 performances will be presented elsewhere through the company's Off Grand initiative.

BLONDE POISON is based on the true story of Stella Goldschlag (1922-1994), a young woman who had exquisite beauty with the blue eyes, blonde hair and bone structure that marked her as a young Aryan goddess. But she was not an Aryan - she was a Jew who survived the Holocaust by becoming a Greifer, an informant for the Gestapo. She had been nicknamed "Blonde Poison" by the Gestapo for her efficiency in catching Jews to be subsequently slaughtered.
