A cast boasting a wealth of West End musical talent has been announced for The Hard Boiled Egg and the Wasp, an entirely original musical about the legendary English comedian Dan Leno written by actor, singer-writer and voiceover artist, Jonathan Kydd and Andy Street, one of the leading figures in British and American television music.

In conjunction with the new exhibition, Edouard Vuillard: A Painter and His Muses, 1890-1940, The Jewish Museum is presenting five related lectures. Highlights include a three-part daytime lecture series on May 7 and 21 and June 4 featuring historian Jane Becker and Vuillard exhibition curator Stephen Brown; artist Lisa Yuskavage in conversation with Norman Kleeblatt, The Jewish Museum's Chief Curator, about Vuillard's influence on contemporary art, on Thursday, May 24; and a discussion of Vuillard's career with The Art Institute of Chicago curator Gloria Groom on Thursday, May 31.

The Jewish Museum will present a Passover concert for families by David Grover with Grover's Gang, on Sunday, April 1 at 2 pm. Singer/guitarist David Grover's folk sound for the 21st century will entertain adults and children alike. Children can celebrate freedom and dance to such songs as The Matzah Song, Go Down Moses and Man Come Down to Egypt. Grover will be joined by special guest Meredith Wright, founder of the kids' music band Sweetbeatz, adding her jazzy voice to the holiday music. Grover's Gang also features singer/bassist Kathy Jo Grover, singer/drummer/guitarist Mike Sacco, and Charlie Tokarz on woodwinds.

In an era when Waller had to enter some of the places he played by a side door, it would have been inhuman to resist completely the allure of white privilege. It's all on view in his song LOUNGIN' AT THE WALDORF, which contrasts the kind of freedom and looseness he could enjoy performing in Harlem with the stiffer, whiter milieu of the Waldorf Astoria. Nevertheless: "Ain't it swell doin' swell with the swells in the swellest hotel of them all? One of the strengths of the show is that it doesn't whitewash (if I may use that word here) this part of Waller's legacy.

Music Director Alan Gilbert will lead the New York Philharmonic in the New York Premiere of Thomas Adès's multimedia In Seven Days (Concerto for Piano with Moving Image), Thursday, January 6, 2011, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, January 7, at 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, January 8, at 8:00 p.m. The score, which the composer will perform at the piano in his Philharmonic debut, is synchronized with Israeli artist and filmmaker Tal Rosner's kaleidoscopic imagery, projected onto six large screens. Mr. Adès calls it a 'video-ballet in seven movements' that follows the story of creation. The program will also include Mozart's Symphony No. 40, and Mahler's Kindertotenlieder, with baritone Thomas Hampson.
