Howard Palmer was born October 11, 1907 in the small coastal town of Waldport, Ore. His life was one marked by change and challenges, mirroring that of a changing United States. Palmer was a hero to those who knew him, but passed away in 1988 unknown by the masses. Palmer's granddaughter, BC McGregor, set out to change that with the release in 2009 of the book, 'Life Stories of a Hero: Selections from the Poetry of Howard Palmer, Native Oregonian, 1907-1988' (published by iUniverse). The book will enjoy a renewed marketing push when it is featured at the 2013 Frankfurt Book Fair.
