National Theatre Live, U.K.'s National Theatre's cinema screenings of its live performances across the U.K. and the world, in cooperation with the British Embassy in Manila and SM Aura Premier Cinema in Bonifacio Global City, will hold a special screening of Manchester International Festival's new production of William Shakespeare's 'Macbeth,' starring Kenneth Branagh playing the title role, on Tuesday, October 22, at 6 p.m.

According to The Independent, the widely acclaimed Shakespearean actor has been approached to succeed Sir Nicholas Hytner as the artistic director of the National Theatre in 2015.

Arthur Miller's THE CRUCIBLE is now playing at Lost Nation Theater in Montpelier, VT. Based on actual people and events surrounding the Salem witch trials of 1692 and 1693, Miller's play examines social paranoia and judicial power, themes that struck a particularly strong chord in the era of McCarthyism, and continue to be relevant in today's security-obsessed climate. Despite mixed reviews from critics on its first Broadway run in 1953, the play won the Tony Award for Best Play, and earned Beatrice Straight a Best Featured Actress Tony Award for her portrayal of Elizabeth Proctor. Four subsequent Broadway revivals (including a star-studded 2002 production featuring Liam Neeson and Laura Linney) have cemented THE CRUCIBLE as an American classic.

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin previously announced the directors for the Company's 2013-2014 Main Stage season at the Addison Theatre Centre. Directing the season opener, Hank Williams: Lost Highway (tonight, October 11-November 3, 2013) will be Michael Serrecchia.

Tarragon Theatre launches its 2013-14 season with the Toronto premiere of The Best Brothers, written by award-winning playwright-in-residence Daniel MacIvor. MacIvor along with John Beale recreate the roles they originated in last season's hit Stratford Festival production of this heart-warming and hilarious two-hander. This bittersweet comedy previews opens tonight, September 25 and runs to October 27, 2013 in Tarragon's Mainspace.

Producers Jeffrey Richards and John N. Rose Theatre Kingston and English Touring Theatre will co-produce a new translation of Henrik Ibsen's classic, Ghosts this autumn. Stephen Unwin, outgoing Artistic Director of the Rose Theatre, will direct his own translation which will premiere at the Rose on the 19 September before touring nationwide to Salisbury, Oxford, Guildford, York, Watford, Malvern and Brighton. Unwin has a long standing connection with Ibsen's work, and this will be the 7th Ibsen play he has directed. This will be the second play translation that Unwin has written, following his highly acclaimed translation of The Lady from the Sea in 2012 at the Rose Theatre.
