The Lyric Theatre Singers return to Concordia University's DB Clarke Theatre beginning today, June 16, and continuing June 17 and 18 with 4 presentations of Raise Your Voice! A Glorious Broadway Revue. This original musical theatre revue features 46 performers and five musicians serving up a joyful, eclectic collection of Broadway's most memorable moments.

The national tour of the Broadway musical HAMILTON will play in St. Louis as part of the 2017-2018 U.S. Bank Broadway season, it was announced today by producer Jeffrey Seller and the Fabulous Fox Theatre. 

Based on Ben Hecht's books A Guide For the Bedevilled and A Child Of the Century, in which Hecht confronts his own identity as an American Jew in the wake of the Nazi Holocaust, THE BEN HECHT SHOW begins today, June 10 and continues through July 17, 2016 at Piven Theatre at Noyes Cultural Center, 927 Noyes St. in Evanston. The New York Philharmonic will present two programs of film music in May 2016: a complete screening of Charlie Chaplin's CITY LIGHTS, May 19, 2016 - with the Orchestra performing Chaplin's score live, conducted by Timothy Brock, who restored the score for live performance - and Disney's FANTASIA, May 20-21, 2016 - in which selections from Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 will be screened as the Orchestra performs the music live, led by Assistant Conductor Joshua Gersen, in honor of Fantasia's 75th anniversary.

If you think about it, BULLETS OVER BROADWAY is the perfect Woody Allen film to turn into a Broadway musical, especially since it pokes fun at the process of producing one. Add some particularly well drawn characters (book by Allen, based on the original screenplay written with Douglas McGrath) and a copious amount of humor, and combine that with a score that cherry-picks a wealth of classic period music, and you've got a winning combination. The current touring production, which is stopping briefly at The Peabody Opera House (one night only - May 5, 2016), is a hilariously engaging show, full of flashy song and dance numbers from a bygone era, that shouldn't be missed.

In FROM THE HEART, the focus on and celebration of June Carter Cash as an individual is long past due, a welcome realignment of her story from her own perspective rather than as a supporting player in the narrative of her husband, the man in black, Johnny Cash.

Ray of Light Theatre, San Francisco's non-profit musical theatre company, is excited to announce the upcoming run of the lurid prohibition musical favorite, Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party. Set the night before the stock market crash of 1929 that served as the beginning of the Great Depression, The Wild Party follows lovers Queenie and Burrs as they throw the party to end all parties in their Manhattan apartment. The Wild Party runs May 20 through June 11 at the historic Victoria Theatre and features some of the Bay Area's best talent.

2016 marks the 60th anniversary of John Osborne's renowned Look Back in Anger.
