Sinead O'Connor is an international recording artist who needs no introduction. She has recorded 'The Foggy Dew' in honour of the funeral re-enactment of Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa in Dublin, Ireland tomorrow, August 1st 2015. The track will be available as a free download from August 5th 2015.

Evie Hone and Lizzie Wells will join Anna-Louise Knight and Lara McDonnell in the title role of the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical from Tuesday 15 September 2015. Joining the four actresses will be Michael Begley (Mr Wormwood), Miria Parvin (Miss Honey) and Rebecca Thornhill (Mrs Wormwood). Craige Els will continue in the role of Miss Trunchbull.

On the heels of hit comedy Barbecue Apocalypse, The Ruckus continues its 2014-15 season, dubbed the 'season of catastrophe,' with the world premiere of MATAWAN, Dan Caffrey's thrilling physical story of terror, coming of age, and the transformative power of total disaster. The Allison Shoemaker-directed production will run tonight, June 26th-July 26th at the Athenaeum Theatre (2936 N Southport Ave) in Chicago.

This summer, On Site Opera(OSO) will present a new production that exemplifies the company's mission to stage operas in non-traditional locations ideally suited to the stories they tell. OSO will offer an immersive site-specific staging of Giovanni Paisiello's The Barber of Seville at the opulent Fabbri Mansion (House of the Redeemer) on New York City's Upper East Side. Conducted by the company's newly appointed Music Director,Geoffrey McDonald and directed by OSO's Co-Founder and Artistic Director, Eric Einhorn, the production will be updated to the early decades of the twentieth century (when the Fabbri Mansion was built) and staged in themansion's outdoor courtyard and library.

The Drama League, embarking on a landmark year of celebration commemorating its 100 years of service to the American theater, announced today The Drama League Centennial Gala set for Monday evening, November 2, 2015 at The Plaza (768 Fifth Avenue). Museum of the Moving Image Honors Masaki Kobayashi & Tatsuya Nakadai Films, Now thru 5/24

The great Japanese director Masaki Kobayashi (1916-1996), best known for his passionate, socially committed films in the post-World War II era, and actor Tatsuya Nakadai (b. 1932) worked together on nine notable films, chief among them the epic anti-war drama The Human Condition (1959-1961). From May 15 through 24, 2015, Museum of the Moving Image will present all nine of these films-all in 35mm-in the series Portraying the Human Condition: The Films of Masaki Kobayashi and Tatsuya Nakadai to honor this remarkable screen partnership. Nakadai, in his third annual appearance at the Museum, will participate in discussions with screenings of The Human Condition Part I (May 16) and the Cannes prize-winning samurai revenge tale Harakiri (May 24).

Today we are talking to a spectacularly accomplished Broadway leading man with a considerable TV and film resume who plays a prominent role in the new Encores! production of John Kander & Fred Ebb's Tony Award-winning musical ZORBA coming up next month, the thoughtful Santino Fontana. Explaining his part in the production as well as the unique demands of a special limited run concert presentation such as ZORBA! is, Fontana also opens up about the rehearsal process for the show and the developing rapport and camaraderie between himself and the starry assortment of fellow cast members involved in the production - including John Turturro, Zoe Wanamaker, Marin Mazzie and more, all directed by Walter Bobbie. 2014 Los Angeles Times Announces Book Prize Winners

Tonight the Los Angeles Times Book Prizes honored the year's best works in 10 categories at a gathering of literary luminaries hosted by Times Book Critic David L. Ulin. The 35th edition of the prestigious prizes, which recognize outstanding achievement in traditional and emerging genres, was held at the University of Southern California's iconic Bovard Auditorium. T. Coraghessan Boyle received the 2014 Robert Kirsch Award for lifetime achievement. The Innovator's Award, which spotlights cutting-edge business models, technology or applications of narrative art, was presented to LeVar Burton.
