'Music Meets Art' at Laguna Art Museum when Pacific Symphony Music Director Carl St.Clair joins the museum's Executive Director Malcolm Warner in a stimulating conversation about art and music on Thursday, March 26, at 7 p.m., with a reception beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event also includes a musical performance by Pacific Symphony musicians, led by violist Cheryl Gates. This concert is part of a series of free and low-cost concerts called, 'Freshly Squeezed Music: Pacific Symphony in Your Orange County Neighborhood,' created in celebration of St.Clair's 25th anniversary leading the Symphony and championing access to quality music in the community. Tickets for 'Music Meets Art' are included with admission to the museum ($7, $5 for students). Reserve tickets at www.lagunaartmuseum.org. Laura Griffith, Brandon O'Neill & More to Star in CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF at ACT

The first play of ACT's 50th Anniversary Season will be packed with talent. Broadway alums and Seattle favorites Laura Griffith and Brandon O'Neill will play Maggie the Cat and Brick, one of the most iconic couples in the theatrical canon. John Aylward, a Seattle treasure who went on to make a name for himself in Hollywood with recurring roles on ER, The West Wing, and Mad Men, will play the family patriarch Big Daddy. Rounding out the cast of leading roles will be elite Seattle acting veteran Marianne Owen as Big Mama. Kurt Beattie, in his final year as Artistic Director will direct this powerhouse cast.

Orange County, Calif.-Jan. 9, 2015-Composer, conductor and teacher Leonard Bernstein, one of the undeniable giants of 20th-century music, and the first American-born conductor to become a major star, becomes the focal point of Pacific Symphony's second "Music Unwound" concert this season, "For the Love of Bernstein." In 1985, a young Carl St.Clair met Bernstein as a conducting fellow at Tanglewood Music Center. A few years later in 1990, St.Clair stepped in for the ailing Maestro and conducted his "Arias and Barcarolles" during what turned out to be Bernstein's last concert. St.Clair would soon be named music director of Pacific Symphony, but the impact of Bernstein's mentoring to St.Clair has remained to this day.

To carry over the holiday spirit into the new year, cast members from the You Can't Take It With You Pulitzer Prize-winning revival by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman will be volunteering their time and working as a group at God's Love We Deliver. The cast will be helping prepare meals in the kitchen on Tuesday, January 20th for a three-hour afternoon shift.

The New York Philharmonic has established an International Advisory Board (IAB) to develop relationships beyond the United States in order to support the Philharmonic's activities abroad, including regular Philharmonic residencies, educational and entrepreneurial projects, and the launch of the newly formed New York Philharmonic Global Academy. The International Advisory Board will serve as an international network of advocates and ambassadors who will connect with individuals and institutions in their home cities and countries to cultivate the Philharmonic's long-term reach and influence worldwide. IAB members will work with the Philharmonic to secure engagements, activities, and funding sources in a variety of international locations.

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM to Launch Houston Ballet's 2014-15 Season; Lineup Announced!

From September 4-14, 2014, Houston Ballet launches its 45th season with the company premiere of John Neumeier's three-act ballet A Midsummer Night's Dream. The ballet is based on Shakespeare's lighthearted play of the same name and follows the hijinks and hilarity that ensues when a well-intentioned plan with a love potion goes awry. Created in 1977, A Midsummer Night's Dream has served as Mr. Neumeier's calling card, being seen as one of his most joyous and popular creations. Houston Ballet is the first American ballet company to perform the famous work and it is the first piece by Mr. Neumeier to enter the Houston Ballet repertoire.
