Trustus Theatre is bringing Bruce Norris' Pulitzer Prize, Tony, and Olivier Award-winning comedy Clybourne Park to the Thigpen Main Stage. This show, a response to Lillian Hellman's A Raisin in the Sun, is a provocative and humorous look at racial relations and reactions in America. Clybourne Park is directed by award-winning guest director Jim O'Connor, and opens on the Thigpen Main Stage tonight, January 24th at 8:00pm.

Producer David Binder officially announces Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner James Franco & Chris O'Dowd will make their Broadway debuts in Of Mice and Men, a new production directed by Tony Award winner Anna D. Now in its 16th season, Lincoln Center's acclaimed series American Songbook will continue to expand its scope celebrating the best in American singing and songwriting. New this year, the opening night concert will befree, in the David Rubenstein Atrium, on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. 'Live From Lincoln Center,' the Emmy Award-winning program broadcast nationally on PBS stations, will shoot four of the first week's American Songbook concerts in The Allen Room: by James Naughton, Lawrence Brownlee, Jason Isbell, and Patina Miller. These performances will be broadcast nationally beginning in Spring 2014. In addition, American Songbook concerts taking place in the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse at Lincoln Center will be live-streamed via http://watch.lincolncenter.org.

There will be a memorial celebration for Paul Szilard (Dancer, Producer, Impresario and a great friend to the arts) on Thursday, October 31st, 2013 at 1:30 pm at The Joyce Theater, 175 Eighth Avenue at 18th Street, NYC. Participants will be LaRue Allen, Executive Director, Martha Graham Dance Company; Adrienne Dellas, Director of the Universal Ballet's Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, D.C.; Calvin Hunt, Senior Director, Performance and Production, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater; Judith Jamison, and Artistic Director Emerita, The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. There will be performances by members of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater performing 'Song for You' and an excerpt from 'Cry'; students from the senior division of the Kirov Academy of Ballet performing the Adagio and Coda from 'Sleeping Beauty'; and members of the Martha Graham Dance Company performing 'Ritual to the Sun' from Acts of Light. The public is invited.

Russia's profound and far-reaching impact on 20th-century culture will be explored at the 2013 annual Bard SummerScape festival, which once again offers an extraordinary summer of music, opera, theater, dance, film, and cabaret, keyed to the theme of the 24th annual Bard Music Festival, Stravinsky and His World. Presented in the striking Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts and other venues on Bard College's bucolic Hudson River campus, the seven-week festival opens on July 6 with the first of two performances of A Rite (2013) by the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company and SITI Company, and closes on August 18 with a party in Bard's beloved Spiegeltent, which returns for the full seven weeks. Complementing the Bard Music Festival's exploration of “Stravinsky and His World,” some of the great Russian-born composer's most captivating compatriots provide key SummerScape highlights. These include the first fully-staged American production of Sergey Taneyev's opera Oresteia; the world premiere of an original stage adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov's seminal novel The Master and Margarita; and a film festival titled “Between Traditions: Stravinsky's Legacy and Russian Emigré Cinema.” Together, SummerScape's offerings will continue Bard's yearlong tenth-anniversary celebrations for the Frank Gehry-designed Fisher Center, which commence with a month of special performances in April.
