This weekend, WABC-7 airs a half-hour special covering highlights of the spring season on Broadway, including ANNIE, THE ASSEMBLED PARTIES, I'LL EAT YOU LAST, JERSEY BOYS, LUCKY GUY, MATILDA THE MUSICAL, MOTOWN THE MUSICAL, PIPPIN, and more. 'Broadway Backstage: Spring Preview' airs on Saturday, May 18 from 7:00-7:30PM.

On Friday evening, June 14th, Lehman Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. will offer 'AN ENCHANTED EVENING,' a celebration of the Center and its contribution to the arts and cultural life of our community. This special fundraising event will be hosted by the celebrated actress, Kerry Washington, a Bronx native, known for her lead role as Olivia Pope in the current television drama Scandal and major roles in such films as Django Unchained, Last King of Scotlandand Ray. Ms. Washington will be joined by her Scandal co-star Norm Lewis, acclaimed for his recent Broadway success in Porgy and Bess. Chris Gillespie and musicians, who regularly perform at New York City's Carlyle Hotel just as the late Bobby Short once did, will round out the evening.

As previously announced, John O'Hurley will star as King Arthur. Also starring will be Michelle Ragusa as The Lady of the Lake, Kevin Cahoon as Historian, John Scherer as Sir Robin, David Hibbard as Patsy, Chris Hoch as Sir Lancelot, Ben Davis as Sir Dennis Galahad, and Tally Sessions as Dennis' Mother/Sir Bedevere. Joining them will be broadcast legend Bob Costas as The Voice of God.

GOD STEELING was a super interesting play. Couching this relationship story within the social and political climate of the early 1980s is not something that I frankly see enough. How race, social standing and culture plays into the lives of these union 'brothers' is a bottomless pool of material. Overall, I would like to have seen a bit more subtlety in the performances, but I do have to say that James Fenton's set is worth the price of admission.

Wave Productions in association with Shetler Studios & Theatres will present the World Premiere of Charles Cissel's GOD STEELING, a revealing look at the lives of New York City ironworkers. Directed by Robin A. Paterson, previews began March 8 at Theater 54. Opening is slated for tonight, March 14.

Opening with a groundbreaking World Premiere developed at last season's New Works Festival, the line-up will also give Bay Area audiences their first look at a Broadway hit by playwright Jon Robin Baitz (The Substance of Fire, A Fair Country, Three Hotels); an Off-Broadway smash by Kenneth Lin (Fallow, Po Boy Tango); and a historical drama from Lauren Gunderson (Exit, Pursued by a Bear).
