Theatre Southwest will present their production of David Lindsey-Abaire's play, WONDER OF THE WORLD, beginning December 31st with a special New Years Gala. The show will run through January 23rd. The cast for the production will include James Reed, Stacy A. Spaeth, Ananka Kohnitz, Cheryl Tanner, Brian Heaton, Jeanette Sebesta, and John Kaiser. The show is directed by David Holloway.

Unhinged Productions will present a series of readings in January. Entitled the 'Pre-Stonewall Play Readings,' the events will feature staged readings of three sensational plays written before June 28, 1969. The readings will include EDWARD II by Christopher Marlowe, SALOME by Oscar Wilde, and THE CHILDREN'S HOUR by Lillian Hellman.

The second annual edition of 1st Irish, a five-week-long all-Irish theatre festival coordinated by Origin Theatre Company, runs from September 1 to October 4.

Choice Theatricals, in association with T. Schreiber Studio will present an industry reading of Elizabeth S. Davis's new play, Crazy Head Space, directed by Gabriel Barre. Presentations will be on Thursday, August 20th at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM, and Friday, August 21st at 1:00 PM at The Gloria Maddox Theater (151 W. 26th St., 7th Floor).

Aurora Theatre Company opens its 18th season, focusing on 'family and fortune,' with Clifford Odets' classic Depression-era drama AWAKE AND SING! Bay Area theater veteran Joy Carlin (Jack Goes Boating, Hysteria, The Price), who first directed this play for Berkeley Repertory Theatre 24 years ago, revisits this landmark drama for Aurora.
