The 5th Avenue Theatre is thrilled to announce casting for the highly anticipated premiere of Disney's Aladdin, a new stage musical. The show will feature Adam Jacobs and Courtney Reed as Aladdin and Jasmine, James Monroe Iglehart as the Genie, and Seattle mainstay Seán G. Griffin as the Sultan. Jonathan Freeman takes the stage to embody the role he originally voiced for the film, the Royal Vizier Jafar. He is joined by comedic favorite Don Darryl Rivera as Iago. Aladdin restores a trio of characters originally conceived by the film's creators: Omar, Babkak, and Kassim, played by Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Brian Gonzales, and Brandon O'Neill, respectively. Broadway's Casey Nicholaw will direct. With book by Chad Beguelin and hit songs including 'Friend Like Me,' 'Prince Ali,' and the Oscar-winning 'A Whole New World' by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, Aladdin will enchant audiences of all ages.

After a 35-week national tour, the beloved Berenstain Bears will be coming to life in New York City for a limited summer engagement!

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities kicks off its 2011-12 theater season on September 13, 2011, with the Tony Award winning musical Ragtime. The production - a regional premiere of the play's 2008 revival - opens a seven-play theater subscription season that reinforces Arvada Center Theater's standing as one of the area's leading theatrical producers as well as its emerging reputation as a catalyst for collaboration with regional theaters. Writers' Theatre Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma announce the second extension of Oh Coward!, words and music by Noel Coward, devised by Roderick Cook. The production, which began its run in November 2009 is directed by Jim Corti, with musical direction by Doug Peck. The production has been extended through April 18, 2010, at Writers' Theatre, 664 Vernon Avenue in Glencoe.

This year, the beloved Berenstain Bears may be coming to a theatre near you. Presented by Matt Murphy Productions, The Berenstain Bears in Family Matters, the Musical is touring throughout the east coast this spring, including a performance on May 11th for New York City school students at The Town Hall in Manhattan's theatre district.

The first of the May events BROADWAY BARES: ROOFTOP STRIPS will be held Sunday, May 9 at Hudson Terrace (621 West 46th Street between 10th and 11th Aves). On Sunday May 16, Splash (50 West 17th Street) will play host to the latest edition of BROADWAY BARES: SOLO STRIPS. Both shows will have two performances at 8 PM and 10 PM.
