Hartford Stage presents the world premiere of AN OPENING IN TIME by Pulitzer Prize finalist and Connecticut native Christopher Shinn, with direction by Oliver Butler of The Debate Society, from tonight, September 17, through October 11, 2015. AN OPENING IN TIME's central Connecticut setting is inspired by Shinn's hometown of Wethersfield.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that a stage version of The Exorcist is currently in the works, and Tony nominee Sean Mathias is on board to direct the project. The play, adapted by John Pielmeier, enjoyed a run at Los Angeles' Geffen Playhouse in 2012, starring Richard Chamberlain and Brooke Shields. Production details have not yet been announced.

Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta presents the Atlanta premiere of Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage at the Fox Theatre, beginning tonight, November 25.

Arcadia Performing Arts Foundation presents its second season at the Arcadia Performing Arts Center -- Three Dog Night on Saturday, January 10 at 8 pm; The Four Tops on Saturday, February 21 at 8 pm; Big Bad Voodoo Daddy on Friday, March 27 at 8 pm; The Muppet Movie Sing-a-Long on Saturday, May 16 at 2 pm and Dick Fox Doo Wop Extravaganza on Saturday, June 6 at 7 pm. Inukshuk Production Company and the Portland Q Center have announced their joint entry for the 2014 Fertile Ground Festival: Tennessee in Key West, an original play by Robert Lee Gaynor; directed by Marybeth Bielawski-DeLeo. In this fictional piece inspired by the life of Tennessee Williams, a young reporter travels to Key West to interview the illustrious playwright, and soon realizes he is in over his head when the playwright imposes unusual requirements in exchange for answers to questions.

Billy Crystal returns to Broadway tonight to kick off a 9-week-only limited engagement of his Tony Award-winning, record-breaking play 700 SUNDAYS. Opening night is set for Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street) and the final performance will be Sunday, January 5, 2014. 700 SUNDAYS is performed and written by Mr. Crystal with additional content byAlan Zweibel and direction by Des McAnuff.

Carol Burnett, America's beloved comedienne, is teaming up with legendary mezzo-soprano Marilyn Horne at the Music Academy of the West this month for coaching sessions with the young vocalists who will headline this year's Cabaret gala on August 8, which benefits the Music Academy's full-scholarship program. Ms. Burnett, as the Academy's Cabaret Creative Contributor, and Ms. Horne, Voice Program Director, will instruct Music Academy Voice Fellows in the art of musical comedy, both in private classes and individually. The renowned Summer School and Festival, now in its 66th season, runs through August 10 in scenic Santa Barbara.
