A.C.T. Conservatory Director Melissa Smith announced today that honorary master of fine arts degrees will be conferred on longtime A.C.T. artistic family member Marco Barricelli and Senator Mark Leno, D-San Francisco.

In celebration of its 50 year anniversary, the critically-acclaimed Steppenwolf Theatre Company production of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? will open on Broadway Saturday, October 13, 2012-exactly 50 years to the date after the play's original Broadway opening on Saturday, October 13, 1962. Directed by Pam MacKinnon, the Broadway production will feature the original Steppenwolf cast: ensemble members Tracy Letts and Amy Morton with Carrie Coon and Madison Dirks and will open at a Shubert Theatre TBA.

Music Director Steven Reineke has announced that Tyne Daly, Tom Wopat, Gregg Edelman, Aaron Lazar, Tony DeSare, Michele Lee and Jamie Barton have joined the roster of guest artists to perform at The New York Pops' 28th Birthday Gala, Celebrate Hope, on May 2, 2011. A grand gala evening celebrating the legacy of late actor and comedian Bob Hope and honoring decades of support by Interpublic Group, the event begins at 7:00 PM with a concert at Carnegie Hall featuring a special lineup of concert artists, followed by a black tie dinner and dance held at the luxurious Plaza Hotel.

Nominations for the 56th Annual Drama Desk Awards will be announced at a news conference on Monday, May 2, 2011, at 9:30 AM at the New York Friars Club, 57 East 55th Street, in Manhattan. A continental breakfast will be available at 8:45 AM. Drama Desk and Tony winners Audra McDonald and Liev Schreiber will announce the nominations in the various categories. In addition, there will be remarks by Drama Desk President Isa Goldberg, Drama Desk Awards Executive Producer Robert R. Blume, Nominating Committee Chairperson Barbara Siegel and Randie Levine-Miller, Drama Desk Director of Special Events, who has produced this event at the Friars Club for the past 15 years.

Bergen County Players (BCP) presents Glengarry Glen Ross, a hard-hitting portrait of cut-throat office politics and BCP's first foray into the world of David Mamet. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Glengarry Glen Ross features sharp dialogue, compelling characters and strong social commentary. Under the direction of Alyson Cohn of Wyckoff, Glengarry Glen Ross will be performed at the Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell from March 26th through April 16th, 2011 with shows at 8pm on Friday and Saturday and 2pm on Sunday.
