Producer Jeffrey Finn announced today that OLEANNA, the provocative drama by Pulitzer Prize winner David Mamet, will have its first-ever Broadway production as part of the 2009-2010 Broadway Season. Starring Bill Pullman and Julia Stiles and directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes, the play is a gripping account of a power struggle between a male university professor and one of his female students.

Variety reports that Kate Whoriskey will succeed Bartlett Sher as artistic director of Seattle's Intiman Theater beginning in 2011. Whoriskey, director of the recent Pulitzer-winner 'Ruined,' will share leadership of the theater with Sher for the 2009-10 season before taking the reins on her own the following season. Whoriskey has previously been an associate artist at the Intiman during the 2002-03 season. Her list of directing credits at the theater include 'The Chairs,' 'The Lady from the Sea' and 'Blue/Orange.'

Main Street Theater's hit production of Clifford Odets' masterpiece Awake and Sing! is extending through June 14. Added performances are Sunday, June 7 at 7:30pm (this follows the already scheduled 3pm matinee that day), Saturday, June 13 at 8pm, and Sunday, June 14 at 3pm.

Previews will be taking place on May 2, 3, & 6. There will be no performances on May 8. Opening night for this Cheryl L. Kaplan-directed show will be on May 7 at 7:30 pm. The show will be performend on Thursdays at 7:30 pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm, and Sundays at 3:00 pm.

Desire Under the Elms at Goodman Theater opens tonight. Rumors have spread that the show has Broadway in its sights, and hopes to come to New York next spring.
The show has been extended before opening night, as it will now play through March 1.
Goodman Theatre Artistic Director Robert Falls and renowned actor Brian Dennehy bring their artistic partnership to new heights with Eugene O'Neill's haunting drama, Desire Under the Elms-marking their fifth collaboration on O'Neill's work over two decades. Falls' cast includes stage and screen stars Carla Gugino (Entourage, Spy Kids, Sin City) Pablo Schreiber (Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Awake and Sing!), Boris McGiver (The Wire) and Daniel Stewart Sherman (Broadway's Cyrano de Bergerac).

In conjunction with its world premiere production of Not Enough Air by Masha Obolensky, TimeLine Theatre Company will present a series of concert readings of the landmark play that inspired Obolensky's work, MACHINAL by Sophie Treadwell. Rhoda Herrick has just announced that Garden of Earthly Delights will be extending its run for the second consecutive time, continuing through Sunday, May 31 at the Minetta Lane Theatre (18 Minetta Lane). The show, which opened to rave reviews on November 19, began previews on November 8 and was originally slated to run through January 18. The first extension would run through March 1 before the latest announcement today. Tickets for this extension are currently on sale through Ticketmaster; www.Ticketmaster.com or (212) 307-4100. Margaret Selby of CAMI Spectrum is booking an international tour for the 2009/2010 season.
