British actor and filmmaker Alan Rickman has passed away at the age of 69.

Semyon Bychkov will return to the New York Philharmonic to conduct Mahler's Symphony No. 6, Thursday, February 11, 2016, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, February 12 at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, February 13 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, February 16 at 7:30 p.m.

Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. Broadway and Vegas star Brent Barrett will not perform the title role in Andrew Lloyd Webber's PHANTOM OF THE OPERA at Germany's Stage Metronom Theater in Oberhausen due to an injury. David Arnsperger will step in for the role. 

DEATHTRAP is an old fashioned, twisty thrill ride. NextStop Theatre Company puts the thrill back in thriller with a briskly directed, well cast production of the venerable potboiler. If we gave out ratings at Broadway World, I would offer NextStop four big ones for a production that crackles with wit and delivers a bloody good time.

SAN FRANCISCO (October 12, 2015) –– San Francisco Opera Center Director Sheri Greenawald announced today the twelve recipients of the 2016 Adler Fellowship, a multi-year performance-oriented residency offering advanced young artists intensive individual training, coaching and professional seminars, as well as a wide range of performance opportunities. Adler Fellows are selected from the young artists who have participated in the Merola Opera Program. This prestigious training program has nurtured the development of more than 150 young artists since its inception.

Exciting news just in to BroadwayWorld!  Michael Weber, artistic director of Porchlight Music Theatre, has announced the casts of the Chicago premiere of the 2014 revision of Side Show, the return of Porchlight's hit Ain't Misbehavin', multi-Jeff Award-winner Summer Naomi Smart starring in the Chicago premiere of Far From Heaven, and Porchlight Music Theatre's 2015 - 2016 artistic leadership for its four Mainstage productions.

Pieter Toerien's Montecasino Theatre will play host to Steven Stead's production of SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET, Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's musical thriller, which first premiered on Broadway in 1979.

The 69th Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 7th at 8/9c hosted by Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming.
