Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats, the second longest-running Broadway musical (only surpassed by Lloyd Webber's own 'The Phantom of the Opera'), and fourth longest-running West End musical, returns in high definition and digital sound to Great Performances where it had its 1998 world television premiere. The special encore presentation will air Friday, November 21 at 9 p.m. ET on PBS (check local listings) as part of the PBS Arts Fall Festival.

Manhattan Theatre Club's American premiere of The Father, the new play by Molière Award winner Florian Zeller, with a translation by two-time Tony Award winner Christopher Hampton (Sunset Boulevard, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, God of Carnage) and directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes (Doubt, Outside Mullingar, City of Conversation) will extend by one week at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street). The limited engagement, which opened on April 14 to critical raves, has been extended through Sunday, June 19.

It was announced today that the new Broadway musical Doctor Zhivago, which opened at the Broadway Theatre on April 21st, 2015, will record its cast album on Thursday, May 28th, 2015. Doctor Zhivago authors include composer Lucy Simon (The Secret Garden), lyricists Michael Korie (Grey Gardens) and Amy Powers (the two multi-platinum Sunset Boulevard hits) and book writer Michael Weller (screenwriter for Hair and Ragtime). The Broadway cast recording will be released by Broadway Records on July 31st, 2015 and can be pre-ordered by visiting http://www.broadwayrecords.com/cds/doctorzhivago.

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre's 2013 Season is the year Broadway and Hollywood meet with all of the productions at the theatre being hits both on the silver screen and Great White Way. The season kicked off with the funny and heartwarming Steel Magnolias, followed by Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 – The Musical. This beloved musical based on the glorious MGM hit film and Stephen Vincent Benet's short story 'The Sobbin' Women' tells the story of Adam Pontipee and his backwoods brothers' unusual pursuit of brides. When Adam goes to town to get a wife, he miraculously convinces the beautiful and feisty Milly to marry him that same day, and then she immediately starts reforming her six rowdy brothers-in-law. When her plan to marry off the boys backfires, this exuberant rousing musical kicks into high gear with a combination of daredevil dancing and wonderful songs like 'Goin' Courtin,' “Sobbin' Women,” and 'Wonderful, Wonderful Day.'

Ramin Karimloo has won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical for his portrayal of 'Jean Valjean' in LES MISERABLES. Ramin Karimloo most recently played 'Jean Valjean' in the Toronto production of Les Miserables, a role he also played in London's West End, where he also received the Theatregoers' Choice Award for his performance.

Arvada Center presents the Denver debut of SUNSET BOULEVARD featuring Broadway veterans Ann Crumb and Kevin Earley. Performances will run through October 10. Videos were recently released of Crumb and Early singing 'As If We Never Said Goodbye' and 'Sunset Boulevard'.
