THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS IN CONCERT

The RT Concert Orchestra is proud to present The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers for one night only, Sunday 28 October 2012 at the O2, Dublin. Tickets are on sale now from usual outlets priced 39.50 to 69.50 (additional service charges may apply).

Following the phenomenal success of The Fellowship of the Ring last year, the full RT Concert Orchestra and chorus now perform to The Two Towers, the second epic fantasy film in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Beneath an immense screen, the orchestra and singers will bring Howard Shores music of Middle Earth uniquely to life in what promises to be another unforgettable occasion.

The RT Concert Orchestra has had a special place in Irish musical life for over 60 years, with a range that sees them equally at home in classical, opera, jazz, film, rock and traditional music. In recent years the RT CO has developed a popular series of film screenings with live performance of the orchestral score. Highlights of these screenings to date have included The Wizard of Oz, Casablanca, Psycho, Bugs Bunny on Broadway and of course last years massively successful The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

by BWW News Desk - Aug 5, 2014

More summer reading memories (see part one andtwo) from our staff: we'll begin with contributing editor Robert Gray, and J.L. Carr's A Month in the Country: 'A smart, sweet and bittersweet novel. 'Summertime! And summertime in my early twenties! And in love!' Tom Birkin--who is not an exclaimer by nature--exclaims. 'No, better than that--secretly in love, coddling it up in myself. It's an odd feeling, coming rarely more than once in most of our lifetimes. In books, as often as not, they represent it as a sort of anguish but it wasn't so for me. Later, perhaps, but not then.'
