Based on the cult Hollywood film starring Reese Witherspoon, Ryan Phillippe, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair and the French novel, Les Liasions Dangereuses, Cruel Intentions: The '90s Musical is the beguiling story of two of Manhattan's most dangerous liaisons, Sebastian Valmont and Kathryn Merteuil.

Playwrights Foundation's 7th Rough Reading of the season will be The Garbologists by Lindsay Joelle, directed by Jessica Bird Beza on Monday, May 20, 7:30pm, Roble Hall, Stanford University; and Tuesday, May 21, 7:00pm,

Dallas Black Dance Theatre (DBDT) returns to New York City for its sixth season on May 2-3, 2019 in the Ailey Citigroup Theater, located at 405 West 55th Street, New York, NY. New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) is pleased to announce the presentation of two grants funded by the Alan M. & Mildred S. Ravenal Foundation. From the 16th of March to the 9th of April 2019, the Nederlandse Reisopera (Dutch National Touring Opera) will be taking a new production of the Stephen Sondheim musical A Little Night Music around the country. This is an English-language version produced by an American artistic team. In this staging, Director Zack Winokur looks back to the film that the musical was originally based on, Ingmar Bergman's Smile of a Summer Night: 'What I found lacking in the musical, at least in the productions that I saw, was the bodily, sensual and erotic comedy which is at the heart of the film. Why are people continually trying to seduce each other and why are they continually failing? This work is about feelings that everyone deals with in daily life, which is comforting, alienating and disquieting at the same time.'

Proving the enduring vibrancy and relevancy of the art form (while celebrating a milestone for its leader), Boston Lyric Opera's 2019/20 Season of new productions spans three centuries of composers -- focusing on works that reflect the highs and lows of power and politics, bringing passionate opera installations to new neighborhoods, and introducing audiences to rising stars from diverse backgrounds. In celebration of the upcoming 20th anniversary of the cult classic film Cruel Intentions, producers of the hit off-Broadway musical CRUEL INTENTIONS THE 90S MUSICAL announced that a cast recording featuring the original Off-Broadway company was released on March 8, 2019 on CD and all digital formats on ABKCO Records.

The Cleveland Orchestra and Music Director Franz Welser-M st announced details of their 2019-2020 season which encompasses 76 concerts over 26 weeks. One significant highlight includes a festival designed to explore music and art that was banned, marginalized, and destroyed during the Nazi's Degenerate Art movement, and the continuing impact of censorship on creative expression in society today. The festival will center on Alban Berg's Lulu, one of the 20th century's most influential operas, and includes partner programming with the area's notable arts institutions.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the cult classic film Cruel Intentions, producers have announced the casting for the North American tour of the Off-Broadway smash hit Cruel Intentions: The 90s Musical.  Following sold-out runs in Los Angeles and a critically acclaimed, sold-out run in New York City, the new musical - a stage adaptation of Roger Kumble's 1999 cult-hit film, created by Jordan Ross, Lindsey Rosin & Roger Kumble - will launch its first national tour at Proctors in Schenectady, NY on March 29, 2019.
