NBC has announced that the cast of Broadway's ON THE TOWN will perform live on the plaza on Monday May 18th.

Nominated for four 2015 Tony Awards, On the Town is still going strong at the Lyric Theatre, but performances May 7-12 were canceled so that the theatre could host NYC upfronts for Univision Communications Inc. Performances will resume this afternoon at 2pm, May 13. Welcome back to the ship!

The 71st Annual Theatre World Awards -- the first award created in 1945 to recognize a debut theatre performance on or off-Broadway -- will be honoring the legacy of Betty Comden and ON THE TOWN with a special recognition for "Outstanding Contribution to the Theatre World." BroadwayWorld has learned that performances May 7-12 have been canceled so that the theatre can host NYC upfronts for Univision Communications Inc. Performances will resume on May 13.

The 2015 Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), presented by AT&T, recently announced 'Sinatra at 100: Film & Music in collaboration with The Lincoln Motor Company,' a centennial celebration to honor Frank Sinatra's legendary film career at the Festival's 14th edition.

ON THE TOWN's Alysha Umphress and Jay Armstrong Johnson stopped by this morning's TODAY to perform the number 'I Can Cook Too' from the hit Broadway musical.

'Classic NYC Movies at the Palace' continues with the all-star musical that shows off the Big Apple at its best followed by a mini-concert by members from the cast of 'On the Town' now playing at the Lyric Theatre. New York Post Chief Film Critic Lou Lumenick will introduce the movie with his special guest Michael Riedel, the Post's theater columnist and PBS/radio celebrity.

It happens every time the NYC school kids see some romantic activity on stage. The squeals, oohs & aahs from the youngsters are a delight to hear. It's a first time Broadway experience for most of them. The school busses were lined up early at The Lyric Theatre for the 10:15 & 1:15 special mini performances by some of the cast members of the hit show On The Town. Michael Presser and all the folks involved with 'Inside Broadway Creating The Magic' make it possible for hundreds of school children to get a behind the scenes look at the workings of a Broadway Show.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Julie Halston will be taking on Jackie Hoffman's roles in Broadway's On The Town this week, beginning Thursday, March 12.

The new Broadway revival of On The Town welcomed SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE winner and 'America's Favorite Dancer' Ricky Ubeda to the cast last week for a limited engagement through April 26, 2015. Ubeda received the opportunity to join the cast as part of his prize for winning SYTYCD in September 2014.
