Andrew Lloyd Webber's reworked stage musical The Wizard of Oz is set to launch a North American tour in fall of 2013. After its run at the Ed Mirvish theatre in Toronto this December, The Wizard of Oz will take its entire cast across Canada and into the United States, hitting cities such as Chicago and Los Angeles.
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new production of The Wizard of Oz is an adaptation of the all-time classic, totally reconceived for the stage by the award-winning creative team of the revival of The Sound of Music.
Developed from the ever popular MGM screenplay, this new production contains all the songs from the Oscar-winning movie score, all the favourite characters and iconic moments, plus a few surprises along the way, including new songs by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Filled with favorite songs like 'Over the Rainbow' and 'We're Off to See the Wizard,' fans of all ages will once again be delighted as they follow Dorothy, Toto, Tin Man, Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion on an enchanting adventure along the Yellow Brick Road to Oz. The Music Circus production will be the Royal Shakespeare Company version of the musical, which was first presented at the Barbican Centre in London in 1988 and is based closely on the classic film.

Claire Shannon Kelly, currently the Director of Youth Programming for Shakespeare on the Sound and the director of the company's touring educational program, 'Speaking Daggers,' will direct. Kelly previously worked at the Ordway Theater, the Guthrie Theater, the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey and the George Street Playhouse. She is a resident of New Canaan.

San Jose Stage Company and Broadway San Jose are pleased to announce the winners of the Bay Area High School Musical Theatre Awards. Marking the 75th anniversary of THE WIZARD OF OZ, Warner Bros. has produced a 3D remastered version of the film which will launch a comprehensive, cross-divisional campaign encompassing theatrical, home entertainment, consumer products and a number of promotional partnerships.
The remaster will reportedly be handled much in the same way as JURASSIC PARK in 3-D and TITANIC, and a DVD release is set to coincide with the film's 75th anniversary.
