"The Foreigner," an inspired comic romp written by the late Larry Shue, opened the 2005-2006 theatre season at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts. "The Foreigner," winner of two Obie Awards and two Outer Critics Circle Awards as Best New American Play and Best Off-Broadway Production, demonstrates what can happen when a group of devious characters in a small, rural fishing lodge, must deal with a stranger who they believe knows no English.

Fortyfivedownstairs Announces Their November Schedule

Fortyfivedownstairs has announced its November programming. Street art and gardens have combined in the installation created by young artists from the Artful Dodgers Studios. In the theatre we have two solo shows from strongly contrasting environments performed by outstanding actors, Ellie Nielsen (Waiting for Isabella) and Hannah Norris (My Name is Rachel Corrie). With one set in mid twentieth century Paris, the other in war torn Gaza, these two works could hardly be more different!

'Golda's Balcony' Starring Feldshuh Closes at Old Globe Theatre, 5/30

Executive Producer Lou Spisto has announced that due to unforeseen conflicts with Roger Rees' schedule, The Old Globe's upcoming production of What You Will has been replaced with Golda's Balcony starring four-time Tony Award nominee Tovah Feldshuh. Written by William Gibson and supervised by Scott Schwartz, Golda's Balcony earned Feldshuh a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress, and is the longest running one-woman show in Broadway history. Golda's Balcony will runin the Old Globe Theatre April 28 - May 30. Previews run April 28 - May 1. Opening night is Saturday, May 1 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are currently available to subscribers only.
