"The Foreigner," an inspired comic romp written by the late Larry Shue, opened the 2005-2006 theatre season at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts. "The Foreigner," winner of two Obie Awards and two Outer Critics Circle Awards as Best New American Play and Best Off-Broadway Production, demonstrates what can happen when a group of devious characters in a small, rural fishing lodge, must deal with a stranger who they believe knows no English.
Broadway star, Recording Artist, and Trans-siberian Orchestra member, Rob Evan will bring his show, The Rock Tenor in the Grand Illusion to (le) Poisson Rouge, Monday night, August 22 at 10pm. Special guest performers from Broadway, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and the world of ROCK will also be featured. Globalvision Records producer and long-time Evan collaborator Jeremy Roberts will provide musical direction. The evening will highlight a 6-piece rock band and four vocalists. In the theatre we have two solo shows from strongly contrasting environments performed by outstanding actors, Ellie Nielsen (Waiting for Isabella) and Hannah Norris (My Name is Rachel Corrie). With one set in mid twentieth century Paris, the other in war torn Gaza, these two works could hardly be more different!
